I'll overwhelm 'credible combatant' Jake Paul - Anthony Joshua

Anthony Joshua and Jake Paul face-off

Anthony Joshua will face Jake Paul in an eight round fight which will be broadcast in real-time on the streaming platform.

British boxer Joshua declared he will "dominate completely" Jake Paul and "overpower" his opponent as the combatants came face-to-face to build hype for the upcoming heavyweight fight.

Former two-time unified heavyweight champion Anthony Joshua faces social media star turned fighter Jake Paul - in what is, on paper, a huge mismatch - at Miami venue on December 19th.

Fighter's Mindset

"I'm going to injure his face and hurt his body. I'm here to prove I'm the better fighter," Joshua, 35 years old, said.

"I will dominate him completely. That's the boxer's mindset.

"I'm going to genuinely try to cause him pain. That's what I want to do."

Respectful Exchange

Despite those words, a calm Anthony Joshua and social media star Jake Paul - usually famous for his theatrics - exchanged pleasantries and maintained decorum with each other.

Paul rather criticized former Joshua opponent Francis Ngannou and described him as "a joke" after the Cameroonian rejected a fight offer.

Taking Aim at Fury

Anthony Joshua, meanwhile, took aim at UK rival Fury - and declined a large bet 'The Gypsy King' says he will place on a Paul win.

"[Paul] outshines Tyson Fury - he's present here," Joshua commented.

"I acknowledge that."

Serious Opponent

In spite of saying he intends to hurt Jake Paul, Anthony Joshua refused to comment unfavorably about his opponent's boxing ability.

"Jake is a credible opponent," he said.

Jake Paul's Background

Jake Paul - who initially became famous on the Disney Channel - has mainly fought MMA fighters or declining opponents since turning professional.

He was defeated by Briton Fury in 2023.

Commercial Success

Still, the relative newcomer is still one of boxing's largest commercial attractions, frequently receiving substantial earnings.

Prediction and Belief

The 28 year old anticipated a KO victory in the fourth or fifth round and asserted he would stop the much-anticipated match between Joshua and Fury, which is reportedly being planned for 2026.

"It will be me versus Tyson Fury in the coming year," Paul stated.

Size Disparity

As the two fighters met for the usual stare-down, with their height and weight contrast clearly visible, it emphasized just how surprising this entire matchup is - and how remarkable it is that the match is actually proceeding.
